| Ever wanted to play BFheroes in first person? Ever wanted to free your self from the shackles of EA's tyranny? Well this mod is for you! I started work on this mod in December of last year and a few months back had finished the first vehicle map. Now the mod has 10 maps including the newest one Midnight Mayham. My nightmaps also have advanced lighting like windows and streetlights casting light onto other objects. Something that hasn't been done in the real game due to lazy EA devs.... Anyways here are some of my videos that show the development of this mod: Features: 1. All vehicles ported. 2. All maps since 1.25 update ported. 3. Jetpacks ported. 4. Most standard issue handweapons ported. No supers/dappers yet. 5. Features TurboJet and RippinRocket customization items for jetpack kits on Midnight Mayham. All weapons and items found in this mod are free and do not require purchase of any kind! 6. Features a modified HUD to look like the real game and sound effects too! 7. Soldier meshes not yet ported. Need someone good in vertex skinning to help me on this before I can get the soldier meshes working. 8. Doesn't lag as much as the real game. 9. Many other things to long to fit in this post. Download Links: Primary Link bfheroes42_v1_76b.exe Mirror Link: bfheroes42_v1_76b.exe Requirements: 1. Battlefield 1942 v1.61b 2. Last version of Punkbuster for online play 3. No other mods required to run this mod! Because this is not a mod for BFheroes and is a mod for BF1942 (an older game engine which BF2/BF2142/BFheroes are based off from), I put it here instead of the modding section. Feel free to post questions or comments on this mod. I will keep this thread updated when I release updates to this mod.

| Very awesome mod looks like i will have to dig out bf 1942 out of somewhere. But the only thing that i would like changed would be the ground and lighting because it too dark doesn't really look that cartoony but coastal clash looks much better. But still ossum.

| Ahh yes. Well BF1942 can only be taken so far. (the game is 8+ years old now! :D) But I match it to the best I can.

| Yes but my dev plan is to only include "finished" stuff. The mod mirrors the real game for the most part. Including PTE things can cause trouble down the road because issues may result when I include more stuff from the live game and if PTE stuff got changed when it makes it into the live game, unkown nastiness could ensue if some of that conflicts when I port it to the mod.

| Thanks! Also made a new logo video for use in the mod. The v1.8 will feature this video when it is released. This is a startup logo made by EA and I modified it to have the EA Failed logo at the end with wind sound effect. Feel free to use this video in your own projects! I have the uncompressed version of this video and can send it to anyone who wants it.

| Looks like you have the same issue with the tree leaves that I do. I put BB in BF2 and those annoying edges appeared too. Think I'm going to put it in the Sandbox mod if anyone's played that before. Mod looks nice, only wish I had 1942.

| Yeah. I tried to use the trees with the sprites using BF1942's treeMesh system but it would do nothing but glitch out. So I had to use the lower detail lod for the leaves. The trees in BFheroes use a custom sprite shader made for BFHeroes. Thus they don't work properly in BF2142 or BF2 because BF2/BF2142 doesn't have a sprite system for trees. :P

| I rly hate those trees they mess up your beautifull map a bit. Can't you import a tree in 3ds max and export it without a custom spirte shader?

| No unfortunately. The treeMesh system for BF1942 just can't handle the BFHeroes trees if I leave the sprites in. So I have to use the ones you see now. I could use the effect system for the sprites but a couple of issues will result: 1. Major lag from too many trees/sprites in on area. 2. Players could cheat by turning down effect settings. This would result in the leaf sprites disappearing with nothing but the trunk left visible. Clearly would pose a unfair advantage to some players. Have to use the trees as is right now. Sorry. Take a look at the BF2141 port of Victory Village. The tree sprites were left in as standard meshes and don't bahave like sprites anymore. So they are only visible at one angle. It looks much worse then the trees in my mod. So exporting the leaves as part of the mesh as is would not look good at all. So the low detail lod versions which have more 3D to them then the sprite meshes used on the main lod have to be used.
