How can I Convert .kmz to .staticmesh, or bundledmesh?

I'm working on Importing something.

First off you need to describe what .kmz files are. Kinda need to know what the input format is before converting it the output format. :P

.kmz is a Google Earth file. You can export them to .3ds with Google SketchUp Pro, but unlike the regular version, Pro isn't free. There's an 8 hour (sic!) trial version though. There's also a .kmz importer for Blender, but I never used it, so I don't know how well it works.
