BF2Editor files for BFheroes...

I got BF2Editor to open BFHeroes maps (mostly so I could retrieve lighting color settings to be converted to my BFheroes'42 mod).

Here's the files (they are from the current version of the game. v1.26):

bfheroesForEditor.rar

Two things to note:

1. Skydomes don't appear. Probably can be fixed but it's just cosmetic at this point. Sun/Moon flares work though.

2. Turn off particle rendering in the View menu. Failure to do so will result in BF2Editor crashing when viewing the level. (seems most of the ambient effects in BFH crashes the editor). Remember the water fall in that one BF2 map that crashes BF2Editor? Well the fix for that is the same for this.

I won't provide support for these files. All I can say is that they should get BFH maps to show up in BF2Editor.

Just extract the rar file to the mods folder of your BF2 game. (do NOT attempt to actually run the mod in BF2 though! It WILL crash!)

If you get missing statics, you might need to copy the StaticObjects.con file to the Editor folder of the map in question. I recall doing this though. I removed some zip archives from the download to save space as I thought they weren't needed. Incase they are, just copy the Objects folder from BFheroes game to the objects folder in the bfheroes mod folder you put in BF2.

Works great. So if you save a modded map out it should work in BFH?

Well yes. But BF2Editor does stuff to the init.con file that won't work in BFH, so you can't use everything BF2Editor does. Just copy the files you changed to a unedited version of the map to ensure it will work properly. Also note that for BFH maps, the editor makes changes to the staticobjects con file to the file that's in the editor folder and not the one that is in the root of the map folder.

The gamemode con file location is the same for BFH maps and BF2 maps. (also in the editor folder)
