Hi,

For a video I'm working on I need a green screen. I'll use it to fraps my Hero and later I'll use Chroma Key in Vegas to make the background transparent.

I thought the easiest thing to do would be editting a texture from a house. So I copied the StaticObjects_client.zip, extracted it in my Documents and downloaded a .dds plug-in for Photoshop. I opened the texture and simply drew a big green square over it. However, as soon as I get into the tutorial I only can see the shadows of the houses (while it's loading) and BFHeroes.exe stops working sad

So, is there a better way to fix this? biggrin Thanks in advance! <3

Your always going to run into shadow issues because the lightmap had been configured.

My Way
Well, make first you need to make a simple green texture for your greenscreen and save it as a dds. Then go into the bfeditor and create a basic map and paint the terrain your neon green and also use that as the sky. Then dont make a lightmap or anything and save it. Then consult the tutorial on how to change the tutorial map. Finally you have to edit the sky.con and init.con files. Basically I am saying that you need a little modding experience first.

Isn't that weird since I do not change the shape?

Yeah, I was already hoping that wouldn't be it. :P

No its not wierd, the shadows aren't rendered in current time for buildings. They are made when earlier.

it would be nice if you could post a download of your bf2 editor files so that you can build a map with bfh crap

It would be easier for you to go to bfeditor.org and look for the 2142 tutorial for the editor and use that for implementing heroes.

Ontopic
Actually I have an idea for you. Make a backup copy of seaside skirmish on your desktop, then delete the lightmaps etc from your level folder. Then go into the game where the green house would be. report back
